Light: Calatheas thrive in medium indirect sunlight. Placing it in front of an east or north window is ideal. Bright direct sunlight can burn the leaves and cause the beautiful leaf colors to fade.
Watering: For best results allow the top 1” of soil to slightly dry out between watering. This plant is not very drought tolerate and extended periods of dryness can result in brown leaf tips or edges. Overwatering will cause the plant to wilt and it will recover slowly.
Can be sensitive to tap water - try using filtered or distilled water, or let your tap water sit uncovered overnight to allow for the chlorine to evaporate.
Humidity: Caletheas enjoy being in a humid environment which you can create by placing it on pebble tray partially filled with water or using humidifier. This plant thrives in steamy bathrooms and kitchens. Calatheas can be finicky and ensuring proper humidity and balanced temperatures is key for it to thrive.
