Light: Prefers medium indirect light. Morning sunlight is fine, but it’s best to avoid intense afternoon sunlight. Overly bright, sunny windows should be avoided or its vibrant leaves will start to fade. Rotate the plant occasionally to encourage even growth.
Water: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil is dry. This is not a drought-tolerate plant and needs consistent watering. Curling or spotted leaves suggests the plant is not getting enough water. Be sure to avoid soggy soil. During winter, the plant should be watered less frequently.
The White Fusion Calathea is very sensitive to fluoride in water. If using tap water to water the plant, first let let the water sit overnight in a container for the chemicals to dissipate into the air. Alternatively, you can use distilled or filtered water.
Considerations: Prefers higher levels of humidity. To boost humidity during winter months, place plant on top of a peddle tray partially filled with water or use a humidifier. Browning leaves suggests the plant needs a more humid environment.
This is a pet friendly plant.
