Light : ZZ plants can survive in low to bright indirect sunlight. They’re a perfect plant to bring life to a low light space. Remember, low light does not mean no light. It can survive with minimal sunlight, however it will need to receive a small amount of light from fluorescent lighting.
Temperature: Does not have any specific temperature requirements but will want to avoid temperatures below 50 degrees.
Watering: Allow its soil to completely dry out between waterings to prevent overwatering and root rot. This is a drought tolerate plant so you want to ensure you are not overwatering it.
Humidity: Average home humidity.
Toxicity: Toxic to pets
Brown stalks and yellowing leaves: suggest your ZZ plant has been overwatered. Make sure you allow its soil to fully dry out between watererings.
Dry, crispy tips: indicates your plant is underwatered or scorched from direct sunlight. If you forget to water your ZZ for too long you will see leaves fall off. If this occurs water your plant immediately and it should recover.
By nature the ZZ has shiny leaves, never spray with leaf shine. ZZs like to be more pot bound so repotting will not need to be done for quite some time.
