Light : Bright, indirect sunlight is ideal. Do not place this plant in full, direct sun, since in many cases the leaves will burn. Alglanema can tolerate low light and florescent lighting but the leaf color and variegation may not be as pronounced.
Temperature : Prefers temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s. Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Watering : Prefers to be kept moist during the spring and summer months but make sure the soil isn’t soggy. Do not allow the lower soil to remain wet as this may cause root rot. In the winter months, water thoroughly but allow the soil to dry out between waterings.
Humidity : Average home humidity. In winter months it will thrive better with having increased humidity which you can created by a partially filled pebble tray or humidifier.
Trouble Shooting:
Leaves turning brown and yellow: indicates overwatering when soil is moist or wet. Crispy, fully yellow or brown leaves with dry soil typically suggests underwatering.
Drooping leaves: indicates insufficient lighting or improper watering. If the plant gets too much direct sunlight the leaves may curl.
