Light: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight unless placed in a northern-facing window. 

Temp: Average home temperatures. Keep away from drafty windows in winter.

Water: Water when top 1” of soil is dry; use room temperature water. Do not allow water to contact the leaves to prevent damage. 

Toxicity: Toxic to pets 


Trouble shooting

Thin, dark green leaves and leggy stems: suggests the plant is getting too little light.

Light green or bleached leaves: indicates too much light.

Plants should be shifted to slightly larger pots as they grow, but keeping African violets slightly root bound can encourage them to bloom.
